Playing for our BUCS teams may not always be possible due to barriers such as cost, travel or clashes with lectures. This shouldn’t stop you getting involved in sport and physical activity and we have a wide range of options where you can swim, play, dance and compete regularly on campus.
Panthers Play is the social sport programme at the University of Brighton. These sessions are open to students and staff of all abilities and are perfect if you want to give a new sport a go at a low cost, or play your favourite sport recreationally every week.
To attend, simply book your space via the Sport Brighton app or website and pay at reception when you turn up for your session. Sessions are just £2* and include use of the equipment if you require, or you can bring your own.
* Some specialist activities are more. For example Bouldering is £4.20 & includes climbing shoes, £11.40 general student admission. You MUST book ahead at https://www.boulderbrighton.com/students. Panthers Play Pole Fit and swimming is £3.50 per session.
You can also get active on a pay as you go basis via our open swim sessions and class programme. Both offer discounted student entry and priority booking. Use the timetable above to plan your next session. Click on the session for more information and booking. You can book up to 5 days in advance. Please cancel your booking up to 3 hours before or the charge for this session will be made to your account. You can pay on arrival at your session.

Campus Leagues are opportunities for students to play regular, competitive fixtures at our Falmer campus, with and against other students. Memberships to take part are £25 per individual per league, with no restrictions on the number of leagues you can enter! All leagues are gender-inclusive and open to all abilities.
Leagues are now underway for 24-25, however if you'd like more information, or interested in joining late (subject to spaces available), complete the form below:
Refereeing and Umpiring
We are looking for student referees and umpires for our football and netball campus leagues. No qualifications are necessary, and there are both paid and voluntary opportunities.
Are you a student looking for paid officiating opportunities and/or interested in gaining your qualification? Through our development programme we can support students who referee and umpire in our campus leagues with financial funding towards qualification, relevant CPD and mentoring opportunities.
