STUDENT CLUBS AND SOCIAL SPORT & ACTIVITIES (FORMALLY PARKLIFE)
STUDENT CLUBS & GETTING ACTIVE @ THE UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON
Whatever your game or level, the university will attempt to find a way for you to enjoy and develop your skills. It's also a great way to meet new people.
From popular team games through to individual pursuits, our clubs and activity sessions provide opportunities for training, competition and fun.
The activities on offer are subsidised, so make sure you make the most out of your time at the University and join a club. Perfect an existing interest or discover a new pastime. You can join one or more clubs assuming they don't clash.
All student activities are coming under the Panthers family. The programme previously known as Parklife has found a new home as Panthers Play.
Ways to get active can now be found in one place and under two core strands. Panthers Play denotes that activities are open to any ability and caters for those simply wanting to train or play in their chosen activity. Panthers Compete are student clubs that enter some form of competition. This could be weekly BUCS fixtures against other universities, local leagues or one off competitions. More detailed information about these strands are below including what activities are offered.
Panthers Play offers weekly training sessions, one off events and social sports leagues. For the weekly sessions which form part of a club listed below, students need to buy a termly membership (£15 per term)or pay £2 for each session on a pay as you go basis. This is specific membership to your chosen activity.
Panthers Compete are clubs at the University of Brighton that compete in some way. This could be in British University competition, one off events or local league. Within this category there are two strands with a price point that reflects the costs associated with your activity. Compete clubs are £60 for term one and two activity. Compete clubs that compete in weekly BUCS competition are £110 for term one and two activity. To note cricket's Compete membership covers term 2 and 3 activity.
