Meet our volunteer Elly | Parklife Netball Officer

Sport Brighton offers a range of ways you can get involved in sport at the university. This includes being part of our volunteer programme. We caught up with Elly who volunteers on our Parklife netball programme. As well as support from Sport Brighton the role also benefits from support by England Netball as part of their wider UNO (University Netball Officer) programme.

Name: Elly

Course: BSc (Hons) Business Management with Marketing

What are your reasons for wanting to volunteer?

I have always enjoyed volunteering and giving back to the community. Whilst at University having lots of spare time enables me to commit to it.

Why did the Parklife volunteering program appeal to you?

This year I decided I want to incorporate Netball into my volunteering because I love team sports and love playing sport with my friends. Having played Netball with the Sports Federation Club for 3 years, I know the benefits of being a part of a sports club or society and so wanted to share my experiences and hope that they enjoy netball as much as I do!

Volunteering through the Parklife programme is so flexible and easy to get involved with; the people who help organise Parklike really make your life easy and always contactable. If I have any questions about promoting netball or coming up with charity ideas they are always so willing to help out.
