Representatives from the University of Brighton have made the shortlist for the 2019 Sussex Sports Awards.
The eagerly anticipated shortlist of finalists for the record breaking Sussex Sports Awards 2019 has been announced, after this year’s awards received the highest number of nominations ever, from across the county.
The unmissable evening, hosted by Active Sussex, will take place on Friday 22 November where the great and the good of the British sporting world will come together to honour the phenomenal Sussex heroines and heroes who have contributed at all levels, across all walks of life.
The star-studded ceremony, held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, will be hosted by legendary athletics star Kriss Akabusi MBE and revered BBC radio presenter Danny Pike.
Parklife Ice Skating

Join us for our annual Parklife Ice Skating event at the Royal Brighton Pavilion.
The University of Brighton have two exclusive sessions on Monday 18th November. 600 tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but the event has traditonally sold out so get in early to get the best price and guarentee yourself a ticket. There are two time slots to choose from, either 6.45pm or 8pm.

Parklife parkrun Takeover

On Saturday 5th October, we will be taking over parkrun in Brighton and Eastbourne. Whether you want to run or volunteer, head along to any of the 6 courses and represent the University over 5k.
What is parkrun?
parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs which take place around the world.
When is parkrun?
parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am (Weather permitting)
Who can take part
parkrun is open to everyone, regardless of ability. Check out this video to get a better understanding of what to expect.
How much does it cost?
Nothing, it’s free!
How do I get involved?
Run
To sign up to parkrun, you’ll need to bag yourself a barcode, which can be done by clicking here. Don’t forget to register as ‘University of Brighton parkrun’ under the ‘Running Club’ section, so that we know you’re representing the University.
You will also need to print out your barcode. If you don’t have a printer available, send your barcode to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we’ll print them for you the week before the event.

Parklife staff and volunteers will be based at Preston Park parkrun, with university representatives also attending the following events across Brighton, Hove and Eastbourne. Take a look at each course to see which one would best suit you.
