Seb started his strength and conditioning development at the Pavilion & Avenue Tennis club in Hove working with youth athletes while completing his Sports Coaching degree. As a group, all of the athletes were competing either on a national or county level, therefore posing a challenging performance driven environment. Seb helped the lead coach with the conditioning of the athletes throughout the tennis season taking competition and additional training load into consideration. Alongside this, Seb volunteered to coach at a powerlifting gym in Cardiff developing athletes of all levels on lifting technique and strength training.

Seb continued his development as a coach taking on a lead coach role within the University of Brighton that involved mentoring an assistant coach. Embarking on both a lead and mentoring journey helped Seb gain invaluable experience with talented athletes on the gold and scholar programmes. His excellent mentoring enabled his assistant to gain lead coach status and Seb bugen coaching one of the scholar athlete and helped him through injury , back to competition.

“I am excited to begin my professional strength and conditioning career at the University of Brighton where I am able to positively influence athletic performance for a range of athletes. I’m especially glad to have the opportunity to help the S&C volunteer scheme within the University as I have first-hand experience of the benefits that the programme has for an aspiring coach”
