BADMINTON

A great way to get some exercise! The University enters both a men’s and women’s team in BUCS competition and those at the highest levels also enter into the BUCS individual championships.

 

For those who play at a more social level there are plenty of chances to join in through the Parklife programme. See below for details.

Locations: Falmer, Brighton

Type: Competitive match play 

Details: Men's and women's University of Brighton teams enter the BUCS leagues. Weekly coached training.

Silver Student Club Membership Badges

 

UoB BADMINTON CLUB | MEMBER CATEGORY: SILVER

Costs: £70 a year or opt to add gym access for £140. £2.50 match fee per match played.

Silver members access personal injury insurance, training sessions with a qualified coach and access to strength and conditioning group sessions.

Buy your Sports Federation Membership here once you know you are taking part in this activity.

You can take part in as many clubs as you like and can fit in. You only need to buy one membership which should be for the club that  requires the highest category membership. So if you do both a Silver and Bronze Off-Site club then you just need a Silver card. You need to buy a membership after your first session. ADDITIONAL PARKLIFE SESSIONS

Locations: Falmer & Cockcroft, Brighton and Hillbrow, Eastbourne

Type: Turn Up and Play; open to all

Details: Social Badminton sessions that cater for all ability levels to have the opportunity to simply play, learn the basics or have some informal matches with support from the student activators. No membership required.

Cost: £1 a session

You can take part in as many clubs as you like and can fit in. You only need to buy one membership which should be for the club that  requires the highest category membership. So if you do both a Bronze BUCS and Bronze Off-Site club then you just need a Bronze BUCS card. You only need to buy a membership if you are taking part in a BUCS fixture or you plan to continue to attend after the 31st October (whichever comes first).
