Team of the Term | Voting Closed

Thanks to all those who voted in our Team of the Term Twitter vote. The winner was the men's rugby 1st team with 41% of the vote.

Sport Brighton opened up the decision of who will be crowned 'Team Of The Term' via the Sport Brighton Twitter account. There were four shortlisted teams chosen from a number of strong candidates. A summary of the team's achievements from last term (October- December) are below. The winning team will get 4 tickets to the 2019 University of Brighton Sports Awards which is being held at the Brighton and Hove Albion FC's  American Express Community Stadium on Wednesday 1st May.

Voting opened on Tuesday 15th January for 7 days. Voting closed at 09.30 on Tuesday 22nd January.

Men’s Football 1st:

Sit top of their league and are chasing their second promotion in two years in one of BUCS’ most competitive sports. They are unbeaten in their league and are clear leaders with a game in hand.

Netball 4th:

The team have had a perfect run so far winning every game in both cup and league. They are the only Brighton team with a 100% win rate and the only team to be first in their league and still in the cup.

Men’s Rugby Union 1st:

Our Gold team have conclusively won every league game, hold the record for best points margin in a single game this year (103-7) and are 11 points clear at the top of their table – the second promotion in two years is on.

Women’s Tennis 1st:

Haven’t lost a single game of any league match this year and sit 6 points clear. Win rate is highly important in their league as they only play once against the other 8 teams and BUCS leagues are decided first on head to head in the event of a points tie.
