What is Stoolball?

  • Stoolball is a sport that dates back to at least the 15th century, originating in Sussex, southern England.

It is a team sport, similar to Twenty20 cricket. Two teams compete to score the most runs. There are two wickets standing at shoulder height, about 14 metres apart. The bats are willow, with a round face and a long, sprung handle. The ball, small and hard, is bowled underarm towards one wicket

More info and a video can be found here.

Where is the Falmer Sports Pavilion?

  • The Falmer Sports Pavilion can be located adjacent to the sports pitches next to the lower Falmer car park. Sport Brighton staff will be there to welcome you.

A map of the Falmer campus can be found here.
