Job vacancies


Coaching vacancies:

Rates of pay vary between £21-£25 per coaching hour (includes preperation time) depending on qualifications. All coaches are required to be qualified to level 2 or above unless stated. Coaching roles will commence in October 2016 and finish in April 2017 for teams in weekly BUCS competition or June 2017 for those competing in one off events.

Coaches will be paid for weekly training session(s) and for fixtures/ agreed competitions. You will also be entitled to take membership of our fitness facilities for the period you are coaching. Branded t-shirts are provided to all coaching staff. Coaches will have regular meetings with team committee members and Sport Brighton staff to help monitor the needs of the club and its coaches. Support is also provided for further professional development and training courses. All coaches are offered free first aid training by one of our qualified first aid trainers.

Lacrosse Coach (x 2):

Women’s and Men’s Lacrosse Coach- Eastbourne

  • Monday 6:30 – 8pm for training. 20 weeks, term time only
  • Wednesday afternoon x 10 weeks for matches (desirable)
  • Training and matches take place in Eastbourne (Saffrons)

NEW POSITIONS: The men’s and women’s squads are looking for experienced coach’s to help the teams develop their BUCS league performance.

Netball Coach (x 2):

Women’s Netball Coach- Eastbourne

  • Monday 5.00 – 7pm for training. 20 weeks, term time only
  • Wednesday afternoon x 10 weeks for matches (desirable)
  • Training and matches take place in Eastbourne (University of Brighton Sports Centre)

NEW POSITION: The two Eastbourne squads are looking for experienced coaches to help the teams performance for the 2017/18 season.

University Football Activator:

The University Football Activator will coordinate Sport Brigthon's 2017-18 recreational football programmes which include 'Turn up and Play', Ladies Football, 5 a-side and 11 a-side leagues. The role description is currently subject to change so we are accepting expressions of interest for this paid role intially before releasing full details when finalised.

Casual Recreation Assistant (Eastbourne) (Summer-Role)

Sport Brighton are currently looking for students to join the Eastbourne facilities team during the summer period. The role provides a varied shift pattern which is flexible to you without commitment to weekly slots with successful applicants able to start as soon as possible at a rate of £7.91/hour.

An in-date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential and previous leisure exprience desired.

Tagged (Tag Rugby) Activator - Eastbourne & Brighton Campuses

University of Brighton Parklife’s Tag Rugby is a fast-paced, fun and non-contact Rugby League offer. Aimed for students of all ages and abilities with teams made up of both genders. Whether you are new, or returning, to the sport; there is something for everyone as Tagged provides great social, fitness and competitive elements to its weekly sessions.


We are looking for enthusiastic student activators to provide promotional, recruitment and event support to build a successful and long-term Parklife offer.

  • No previous Rugby experience is required, just an ambition to succeed.
  • Role is for the 2017-18 academic year

Role Details: 

  • An initial term-time volunteer placement committing 1-2hrs per week
  • A unique experience which will make your CV stand out from the crowd
  • Be a part of building something brand new within the university.
  • A bespoke training workshop to give you all the skills required.
